TOEFL

TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language is an English Proficiency test. It is required by most universities in English-speaking countries as proof of the applicant’s proficiency in English.

TOEFL is conducted to evaluate the English language abilities of nonnative speakers.

TOEFL scores are accepted in 9,000 colleges, universities and organizations, and other TOEFL participating institutes and agencies across 130 countries in the world.

TOEFL has two versions: TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) and TOEFL PBT (paper-based test). Both the versions of TOEFL have four sections- Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing.

TOEFL has four sections- Reading (60-80 minutes), Speaking (20 minutes), Listening (60-90 minutes), and Writing (50 minutes). It takes about 4 hours to complete the test.

There are four English language skills tested in TOEFL. They are listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

TOEFL score is valid for two years.

There is no limit to the number of times you can take the TOEFL.

There is no pass or fail in TOEFL. The score you need depends on the requirements of the institution or organisation to which you are applying. Each educational institution or organisation sets its own level of TOEFL scores to meet its individual requirements.

Test results are normally available 13 days after the test date.

You need to carry a valid photo ID, along with your registration confirmation which includes your registration number. No personal belongings or electronic devices like mobile phones or pagers will be allowed inside the examination room.
